The Green Vase is recently featured in the new issue of Martha Stewart Weddings Spring 2011. We were invited to create what we thought would be a good representation of us. “Oh the choices were endless” we said.
We finally decided upon our love of color & an unusual collection of woven baskets. Some of the baskets we kept natural and some we hand painted with a wash.
The tree peonies were our gorgeous inspiration, rich salmon, corals and sunny yellows, pretty tulips and the ranunculus were so delicious we could not resist. We soon knew in the direction we were heading for our shoot. The lighted fragranced geranium and the delicate ferns just enhanced our whole look.
Our table was finally looking so inviting, with the natural linen runner, tasseled napkins, fun glasses and colorful blooms, that I wanted to sit down and eat. All I was missing was a yummy platter of cheese!
“Back to work” I was told….
Our bridal bouquet was just a beautiful mixed of our favorite blooms, the salmon peony being the “star of the show”
Finishing off all our designs was the tulip table, the two big vessels covered in one of Livia’s favorite fabrics, and again an armful of huge peonies. What better way to remember a fabulous event every year, than with a handful of tulip bulbs that guests can take home and plant.
We had a great few days and next time I want to share some of our behind the scenes! Until then enjoy the magazine.
